Many of us have dreamt of one day making the trek across France with the Tour de France, and have invested hours watching TV coverage thinking of it as a “virtual summer vacation”. This was years before our current lives became ‘virtual’ in so many other ways. Some may have never had an interest, or know the history, teamwork, patriotism and determination it takes to compete in “Le Tour”. Regardless of your interest from one extreme to the other, one cannot deny the utter beauty of the scenery and the history depicted in the televised three-week-long event that many consider the greatest athletic test in sports.
For this year’s race, we have been motivated to create a “Tour de France” wine experience. Inspired by the regions the tour navigates through, we have created a 6 or 12 bottle wine pack chosen for its proximity to either the start or end of that day’s stage. We encourage you to drink the wines in chronological order which correspond with each stage of the race.
This year’s “Le Tour” commences on August 29th in Nice and arrives in Paris over 3 weeks later, on September 20th. On this final day, riders take their celebrated laps along the Champs-Élysées towards the Arc de Triomphe, with the presumptive winner often toasting fine champagne with his teammates before heading into the city of lights.
These wine packs will be available by pre-order only and available for pick up on Friday, August 28th or Saturday, August 29th. All pre-orders must be received before 9pm Wednesday, August 26th.
